HELPING KIDS LIVE BETTER

If your youth or teen, aged 8-16, received a BMI (body mass index) measurement by the school nurse or a doctor, and the BMI was at or near the 85th percentile, bring your child and join us for Strong-Well-Fit at the YMCA.

About the Program

Strong-Well-Fit is a FREE, 12 week program that helps youth and teens, ages 8-16, and their parents make lifestyle changes to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight. PDF Brochure & Dates

Together, you'll begin to:

  • Learn about nutrition & healthy food choices
  • Exercise and play active games
  • Achieve goals
  • Have fun!

Strong-Well-Fit meets for one hour,
two evenings per week

1) 40 minutes of fun physical activities for both children & parents
2) Classes in healthy nutrition & activities

Weekly incentives will be awarded. Parent participation is required.

Who is the program for?

Youth & Teens, ages 8-16, with a BMI of (or around) 85% and a parent. The group may be divided into 2 groups, ages 8-11 and 12-16, depending upon the number of participants.
