Nate Grenier - (YMCA Family Member, Staffperson, Dad). Growing up, one of the special things we did as a family was swimming at the YMCA in Oneonta NY. I grew-up in and around the water there. First, swim lessons then guarding and now teaching. When I think about my childhood, I always think of the amount of time we spent in the water with my family.
Being a dad now, I want to duplicate the same fun and desire to be in the water. The YMCA has helped us as a family have fun in the water, while at the same time giving me the opportunity to teach my children how to swim and be safe in the water. My hope is that my daughters become comfortable in the water, understand the responsibilities that come along with it, and one day too passing this on to their children.
