Madison has been with us for 3 years and has been a true asset since she walked in. She is leaving us for the United States Air Force to pursue a career in Aviation Management. She will work directly with pilots and maintain their day to day with flight plans and actions.
September 28 was her last day and while we will miss her dearly we also hope she succeeds more so than she did here. Good luck
Kennetha has been with the Y as a member since she was 8 years old. 5 years ago Kennetha came into the Y as child care staff. She then worked at the welcome center and as a custodian till she recently, this past year, became our fitness director.
Now she and her family will be moving to Florida to pursue her love of fitness and bodybuilding. She will still work with the local Y in Fort Lauderdale. She will be missed greatly at our branch and we hope her the best in all her endeavors .
Jaime has been with the Y for over 4 years. She is a personal trainer and instructs the Strong-Well-Fit and Youth Conditioning Programs. Recently she has become a point of contact for an adult group with special needs that meet every Thursday. She helps them with exercises and keeps them motivated while they are here. She is an amazing member to the fitness team and the branch and we are lucky to have her with us. Thank you Jaime for all that you do!

New Summer Class Open House!
In the weekends of May, were hosting 4 new classes to try before you buy for our summer session.
CX Works: This program hones in on the torso and sling muscles that connect your upper and lower body. Its an ideal workout for tummy and butt while improving functional strength and assisting with injury prevention.
Les Mills GRIT®: This is a work out that switches between short bursts of intensity and recovery periods. It’s the best way to increase fitness, tone muscle, lose fat and be more athletic.
Tai Chi: This martial art is not a defensive or offensive form. This art focuses on slow movement, balance and mental concentration. This is a calm and meditative class.
Teen Extreme: PARENTS! This class is the ideal class for your young adults in your life. It promotes safety with equipment, correct form while weightlifting and creates a team oriented mindset while working out. Sign your teens up to try out this class in May.
YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT Update:
There were 12 students who represented the Jerry Garver YMCA at the annual Youth and Government High School State Assembly held at the Ohio Statehouse. We are pleased to announce that the of the 4 bills that were presented on the floor 5 of them passed committee allowing the students to speak on the Senate & House floor. 1 of the 3 bills passed the vote on the Senate floor and went on to the Governor’s desk to be signed into Youth and Government law. This year the Hilltop delegation was excited for the opportunity to begin participation in both the Judicial and Lobbyist positions. There were 4 students who argued before the Ohio Supreme Court to discuss the laws around the proper serving of a protection order, and our lobbyist was able to successfully lobby against 8 bills that were presented during the conference. As our teens continue to expand their awareness of how the government works they are finding value in using their voice to express their concerns to positively impact the future of Ohio.
