YMCA Youth & Government - Grades 8-12. Through Monthly Meetings, Mock City Government, Youth & Government State Assembly, and the Fall Leaders Training, students will have an opportunity to build leadership skills and citizenship attitudes - in an experience based, ‘hands-on’ environment.

Mock Delaware City Government - Students will be assigned differnt local government positions and will simulate working on a real-life city issue. Held at Delaware City Hall (Free)
Fall Leadership Retreat - Camp Fitch - great from all first time Youth & Government participants and YIG Leadership (Cost: TBD)
YIG Bill Writing and Debate - This will be our first opportunity to work on our bills for the State Assembly. The first half of the day you will be partnered up with another teen and you will write a bill. The second half of the day we will take over the City Hall Chambers and you will get a chance present your bill to committee. Free.

State Assembly - Columbus State House - biggest event of the year where over 300 students from accross the state take over the Columbus State House. Early Bird Registration Date: 12/15/14 (Cost: $225 - we will hold fundraisers to reduce this cost)
You do not need to be a member of the YMCA to participate. The club meetings are free, however, there are fees for the Fall and Spring Conferences. We will be doing some fundraising to help defray some of the cost.
