2000
Survey released by CIRCA 2000 indicating that partnering with area organizations would enhance the project’s success. Ohio National Guard and YMCA of Central Ohio expressed interest in partnering.

2002
Citizens for Indoor Recreation (CIR) was formed, replacing CIRCA 2000, to facilitate the building and operation of an indoor recreation center in Delaware.

2008
Citizens to Promote Recreation (CPR) is formed, replacing CIR, to raise money, collect signatures, and urge Delaware City Council to put the recreation center issue on the August ballot. Tax levy passes on August 5, 2008 to build new Community and Recreation Center.

2008-09
The City of Delaware selects individuals to serve on Recreation Center steering committee.

2009
Steering Committee works with the City, YMCA, Ohio National Guard and architects to design the rec center and improvements to city parks. YMCA creates Endowment Committee for Delaware YMCA Community Center to be managed through the Community Foundation of Delaware County.
