A Letter From The Director
Welcome to the Downtown YMCA. Located in the heart of downtown Columbus, beautiful, 200,000 square foot facility has been providing programs and services in central Ohio for more than 80 years. The original home to Franklin University and Capital Law School, the Central Branch YMCA was listed on the national register of historic places in 1993 by the Department of Commerce. In 1995, the Central Branch underwent a 15.5 million dollar renovation which both upgraded and restored the equipment and architecture of our facility.
Today, the Downtown YMCA is a full-service YMCA with features that include: a fully-equipped health and fitness center, indoor swimming pool, 2 court gymnasium, aerobic studio, racquetball courts and more.
The Downtown YMCA has a wide variety of programs for people of all ages and interests. Please take a few minutes to explore our facility. Tours are available during regular branch hours and by appointment.
The Downtown YMCA is also proud to offer immediate, affordable housing with supportive services for adult men. The residence includes over 400 private, air conditioned, and furnished rooms. For more information on our residential program please call 573-3616.
